Often we are afraid of putting our first foot forward and we don’t recognise that this is a deep seated pride that lurks behind this fear. To put your first foot forward is to step into a internally dangerous zone were we feel uncomfortable and vulnerable due to our lack of personal confidence in our abilities and especially the ability to understand things and to know. The fear of being wrong or moving in the wrong direction can be extremely powerful when walking the path. We fear that we will lose our way when stepping into this uncomfortable zone as our pride feels attached to the past and to our habitual ways of thinking, learning and acting. When we feel we have gotten it right for instance, in one circumstance we become attached to this way of being thinking it works every time, it’s like ‘I thought this way and acted this way last time so why wouldn’t it work again?’ but different circumstance requires different thinking and learning.
By being open to knew ways of learning we become different and more flexible in our thinking instead of having a rigid mindset we become creative and imaginative by letting our old thinking go and embracing the new opportunities to approach problems in a different way, a new way, a new approach.
By learning differently we think differently and therefor act differently by making decision that may fall out of our comfort zone. This can be very difficult to do as it feels risky and uncertain in knowing the result before it happens. Often by going with the good within us, the right and the loving part of our heart we will find that we solve the problem within us and externally fix the issue. There is good in you all and there is gold within your hearts that will shine when your make the right choice so take courage and take your next opportunity to learn differently to make a difference in your life and in others.
